Many steel fabricators have found that adding the ability to metalize in-house has become a crucial part of their daily operations. Bridge girders, storage tanks, highway sign structures, overpasses, and even small fabrications are all well suited for metalizing. Many fabricators are also finding some state DOT’s are now requiring metalized coatings on new steel structures.

Some steel fabricators use metalizing simply to touch up welds on galvanized structures, while many choose to use metalizing over the entire structure itself. Metalizing does not have restrictions on the size of fabrications as is sometimes the case where structures are too big for the galvanizing kettles/pots.

Having in-shop metalizing reduces lost time (and costs) of transporting components to and from the galvanizer. This gives fabricators the ability to deliver finished products to customers quicker and provides valuable space for the next job.
